15th Welding Skills Competition 2011 Philippine Welding Society, Inc.
Background
The PWS Board agreed to hold a welding skills competition as part of the annual PWS Convention. This will be a revival of the skills tournament held prior to the scheduled convention so that the awarding ceremony will form part of the highlights of the convention activities.
Per agreement, this year's skills competition will be for SMAW Welders in the Level of TESDA (SMAW) NC-III

Registration How to register?
Registration for the competition will be on a Individual basis. Qualification of SMAW NCII (Pipe Welder) is a must.
Registration is open starting January 26, 2011- until February 18, 2011. The attached application form maybe reproduced. Additional information maybe obtained during office hours from the;

MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION
Who is qualified to join?
The competition shall be opened to Individual Alloy Professional Welder of a public or in a private Company, including highly experienced welders of the same category.
Number of competitors
While all Individual Alloy Professional Welder of a public or private Company are encouraged to join, the maximum number of competitors for the actual competition will be limited to 32, conforming to the number of equipment available in the specified venue.
Jury Panel of Judges
There shall be a jury panel which will be responsible for the conduct of and evaluation of the competition outcome. The composition of this panel shall be selected from expert practitioners and who have had previous skills competition experience as a jury panel member.
Note: Judges will be appointed by the PWS BOARD OF TRUSTEES.
Winners and Prizes
There shall be three winners from the field of competitors who shall be receiving prestigious tokens as prizes and who shall carry the distinction as * to be written after his name on the job; e.g., JUAN DE LA CRUZ- "Outstanding Alloy Plate Welder- SMAW 2011” (this will form part of the terms in the registration form).
Registration Fee
A registration fee of Php.2,500 shall be collected from approved applicants for the competition.
PWS will provide the Materials & Consumables such as CS Plate and SS Welding Electrode.
Requirements
1. Each competitor shall present a TESDA SMAW NCII level Certification, relevant Training Certificates fand must bring his / her PPEs, personal tools, and other materials, including a resume and 3 pcs. 2” x 2” photos.
2. Endorsement from the company if Applicable.
